Russian Art Exhibition lifts the veil of an intriguing culture

On Friday October 28 Queensland Russian Community Centre will dazzle with a eight day Art Exhibition showcasing our distinguished Brisbane-based Russian artists.

Guests will be taken on a journey of exploration across thousands of miles of picturesque, centuries - old Russian land and city scapes. Donít miss the chance to be swirled around the world with art infused by different cultures including the vibrant colours and nature enriched stills of Australia.

Styles range from portraits and still life to modern, abstract and new media. And although the styles and techniques differ greatly what unites all the artists is the commitment to art regardless of the places that life took them and circumstances.

Russian Community Centre president Helen Pakhomov described the exhibition as ďa great opportunity for Brisbane to learn more about the intriguing Russian culture, to meet the artists and to discover how the inspiration of an Australian lifestyle influenced their art.Ē

Completing the cultural experience will be the Russian Coffee shop offering cuisine favorites - pirozhki (Russian pies), traditional cakes and other delicatessen delights.

The Exhibition is free and runs from 7 pm October 28 to November 5th. Attend the launch and be welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne.
