Queensland Russian Community Centre President's letter |
Dear Financial Members,
Almost 40 years ago, our forefathers gave us the opportunity to communicate in the walls of our center, which for many has become a second home. Since then, this ‘home’ has been maintained by the selfless efforts of our wonderful volunteers.
From 2010 - 2011, as president of the Queensland Russian Community Centre, I was privileged to work with extraordinary board members and volunteers who have worked tirelessly making our dreams a reality.
Very little time remains before the annual meeting of the QRCC. For each of us, this is a time to review plans for the forthcoming financial year and decide what we can do together to continue the existence and prosperity of the QRCC.
A great first step is payment of your annual membership fees, if you have not done so already. Or maybe you would like to try your hand at joining the Management Committee? If you feel that you are up for the challenge, why not apply for candidacy?
With so much work to do, there is surely a role to suit your skills and experience. Roles include decorators, positions in the kitchen, bookkeeping, management, web developers, newsletters, etc. The list is endless. Your help, no matter how big or small, will be very welcome by the QRCC.
If you are interested, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Queensland Russian Community Centre by joining a community of like-minded individuals with a common goal. Nominations are now open for 2012.
