The Russian Community Centre, located in Wooloongaba, Queensland, is the main central facility for the vast Australian-Russian population living in Brisbane. It is home to many specialty Russian clubs that help promote the Russian culture and traditions in Australia. The centre also has a number of its halls available for hire to the general public.

On Sunday 20th of March the QRCC hosted a Book Fair

On Sunday 20th of March the Queensland Russian Community Centre hosted a Book Fair organized by The Pushkin Foundation of Queensland (Dr. T. Christa, Dr. Maria Kravchenko, H. Popov & N. Dmitrovski). There were books for sale in Russian and English from the private library of Professor Boris Christa, the inaugural Chair of Russian, University of Queensland, Dr. Maria Kravchenko and others. There were some rare books, i.e. “White Russian Emigrants in China”, “Dal’ Dictionary” etc.

Income generated from the book sales totaled $810.10 of which $688.60 will add funds Pushkin Foundation held by QRCC on their behalf and to be used to support Russian language studies. The balance of $121.50 organizers kindly donated to the Queensland Russian Community Centre. Donation will be used for the construction of the disability access in Queensland Russian Comunity Centre.

Pirozhki and blinchiki were available for sale.

QRCC’s team – Gabe Masko, Olga Sudnitsin, Victor Tukavkin Inna Ackroyd and Marina Pollard volunteered in the organization of the event.
